Black Box for iOS.
We are exploring an iOS version of Black Box. There is no iOS release yet, and the iOS feature set may differ from Android because iOS exposes different system-level controls.
Status
Black Box for iOS is in early product planning. We are evaluating what is feasible on iOS, including Apple's NetworkExtension framework for local network protection. We will publish more information here when there is something concrete to share.
Why iOS may differ from Android
iOS gives third-party apps less visibility into what other apps are doing than Android does. That means some Black Box features on Android cannot be ported directly to iOS, and some may need to work in a different way.
- Live monitoring of other apps' camera, microphone, location or contacts use is not exposed to third-party apps on iOS.
- Enumeration of all installed apps is restricted on iOS.
- Network protection on iOS uses Apple's NetworkExtension framework, which requires Apple to approve the use case.
We will plan the iOS feature set around what iOS actually supports, not around feature parity claims we cannot keep.
